Buy a doll. Invest in a young girl’s educational journey

₹90,000 of ₹1 lakh raised

India’s tribal communities are poorly represented in colleges and universities, despite government aid and reservations in seats. According to the All India Survey on Higher Education in 2018-19, only 5.5% of students in higher education belong to the Scheduled Tribe communities, which form 8.6% of the country’s population.

Often girls from these vulnerable communities are at risk of dropping out of school and returning to backbreaking labour to support their struggling families. And because of Covid the impact on these vulnerable students has been devastating.

Shivprabha is working with 15 girls from tribal communities, studying in grades 11 and 12. We support them with notebooks, textbooks and other learning materials. With your help, they can continue their education uninterrupted and build a life that will allow them to support themselves and their families.

What’s more, you get a cute little doll for your support.

These dolls are being knitted by 13-year-old Aari to raise money to fund the education of Adivasi girls in Maharashtra. For every Rs. 2,500 you contribute, you get your own little Dolly with its personalised origin story.
